Acceptable Use Policy
Last updated August 12, 2026.
This Acceptable Use Policy governs your use of First Class and every interaction it makes possible — your profile, your messages, and the introductions we arrange. It is incorporated into and forms part of our Terms of Service. By using the service you agree to it; violating it may cost you your membership.
The spirit of the policy
First Class exists for one purpose: genuine, serious relationships, arranged with discretion. Everything below follows from that. Members treat one another with honesty and respect, keep what they learn about each other private, and never use the service — or anyone they meet through it — for commercial gain or unlawful ends.
Member conduct
You agree that you will not:
- Provide false, misleading, or impersonated information, or misrepresent your identity, age, marital status, or intentions.
- Harass, threaten, stalk, abuse, defame, or discriminate against anyone, or behave unlawfully toward another member — online or in person.
- Solicit money, investments, gifts, or commercial dealings from other members, or use the service for any commercial or promotional purpose.
- Share, publish, or misuse another member's private information, photos, or communications.
- Attempt to access accounts or data that are not yours, or disrupt, probe, or reverse-engineer the service.
Prohibited & illegal use — zero tolerance
You must not use the service, your profile, messages, or any introduction to:
- Offer, solicit, arrange, or engage in prostitution, escorting, sex work, or any exchange of money, gifts, or things of value for sexual or romantic companionship.
- Engage in, facilitate, aid, abet, or encourage human trafficking of any kind — including sex trafficking and sexual exploitation — or coercion, or any activity involving a minor (the service is strictly for adults 18+).
- Abuse, exploit, or endanger any person, or aid, abet, encourage, or conceal the abuse or exploitation of any person.
- Commit or facilitate fraud, money laundering, romance scams, extortion, theft, or solicitation of financial support or investment.
- Distribute unlawful, non-consensual, or sexually explicit content, or threaten or incite violence.
- Violate any applicable law, regulation, or the rights of others.
No trafficking, exploitation, or abuse
To state it plainly: First Class prohibits human trafficking of every kind, including sex trafficking and the sexual exploitation of any person. It prohibits the abuse of any person, and it equally prohibits aiding, abetting, encouraging, or concealing abuse or exploitation. The service is strictly for adults 18 and over. An account involved in any of this faces immediate suspension or permanent removal, relevant records are preserved, and we may report suspected illegal activity to — and will cooperate with — law enforcement.
Consent & non-consensual involvement
No one is added to First Class, matched, or contacted without their own affirmative action. Specifically:
- An account can only be created by the person themselves — no third party may register, submit, or maintain a profile on someone else's behalf, and profile content (including photos) can only be added or changed by the authenticated account owner.
- An introduction never connects two members automatically: the receiving member must personally open and respond to it, and declining is a fully respected outcome, not something we route around.
- Consent to these Terms, this policy, and identity/background screening is a separate, explicit, timestamped step at registration.
- SMS consent uses an unchecked-by-default control with a logged proof-of-consent record (timestamp, IP address, and the exact text shown) — never inferred or bundled into another action.
- You may withdraw at any time: block another member or end an active match to cut off further contact immediately, hide your own profile from all matching and browsing, or delete your account outright.
- Profiles are never publicly searchable and are shown only through a specific, matchmaker-curated introduction — never through open browsing by strangers.
Enforcement
We enforce this policy with zero tolerance. Depending on severity we may warn, suspend, or permanently remove a member — without refund — and we may preserve records and involve law enforcement. Our Law Enforcement Guidelines describe how we handle official requests. Nothing in this policy obligates us to monitor private conduct, but we act on credible reports.
How we prevent and detect violations
First Class is not an open, self-service app — every member and every introduction passes through a human matchmaker, which is itself a preventive control. Our protocols:
- Age is verified, not just self-reported: our minimum age (18) is enforced when you apply, and identity verification (below) checks it against a government ID.
- Every application is personally reviewed by our team before an account is ever approved — nothing is auto-activated.
- Every member undergoes identity and background/watchlist screening through our provider, Persona, including a government photo ID and a live selfie match.
- Every profile — photos, bio, every field — is personally reviewed before it is first shown to another member, and every subsequent edit a member makes is logged and surfaced to our team for ongoing review. There is no unmoderated, self-service browsing of user-generated profiles.
- Introductions occur only between two members who have both passed vetting, with matchmaker oversight of every one — there is no open or anonymous matching between unvetted strangers.
- Either member of an introduction can report a concern at any time (including solicitation or payment-for-sex); reports route immediately to our full team and are triaged through a dedicated review queue.
- Either member can block the other at any time, independent of filing a report, which immediately ends the introduction.
- Our team has read-only visibility into match conversations, disclosed to both members at the point of use, and follows a documented internal escalation process.
- We can suspend or permanently remove an account immediately on a violation, and evidence is preserved: an account under an open investigation cannot self-delete.
Reporting a violation
If a member behaves in a way this policy prohibits, use the “Report a concern” option in your conversation, tell your matchmaker, or write to hello@matchfirstclass.com. Reports are confidential — the other person is never told who reported them. If you are in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services first. Our Safety page has more on meeting safely.
